This is 1 of 2 Large sliding doors I just built. The OA meas is 11'/0"x 9'/1"x 2 1/4" M&T joinery. Western Red VG Cedar. Very expensive stuff here on the east coast. The pic with Steve & I is to give it scale. We also di cut the tenons on the 125 1/2" rails on the tablesaw. It was interesting.

Nice doors Bob. Did you buy the Cedar that thick or did you glue it up? How heavy did the door turn out to be? Also, where did you get the plan for the tenon jig?

Thanks Don. I got the Cedar in both 5/4" & 4/4", actual meas is 1 1/32" & 11/16". Glued em up with Excel (like Gorilla glue) & Titebond II together, used 5/4" for the outsides, & 4/4" for the center, I found this combo by accident, it works Great! As to the weight. . . I don't know! By math my calculations say 279 lbs. I think it's a little more than that though. It took 3 guys to lift & flip it, I think that it's nearer to 320 lbs. The tenoning jig was just something I came up with after using smaller ones, with this one I can tenon boards up to 9" wide without any change over. I've done boards that were 18" wide by removing the front rod & handle & substituting a deep clamp to hold the pieces true. I now know that I can do a board up to 125 3/4" long with no problem other than moving the TS back so I don't encounter a ceiling
truss. I built this
sucker 10 years ago, took an entire day, worth every penny.
