Recycled Barn

Listing #3299 Listed on: 05/15/2011 Company Name: Integrity restoration and remodeling
Name: John sheridan

This is a barn we were hired to restore It sits on one of the oldest farms in America. Once we got started the insect damage was so pervasive we had to start over. We reclaimed every piece of usable wood possible. Two other buildings on the property were also coming down we salvaged as much wood as we could from these as well. We also were able to recycle old doors and hardware. The new timbers came from a patch of forest that had blown down in a storm. We were able to mill the timbers on site. About 75% of the wood in this building is recycled.

Nice! Lotta work there. Isn't it funny how the pics make it all look so easy? Are you shingling the roof onto pearlings with wood shingles? Also, how is everything secured. . .nails, screws, spikes? How long has it taken so far? I know, I know. Lot of questions ain't it. Done restoration work myself, fun, challenging, satisfying. Especially if the jobs in your area & you drive by it ten years later. Good work John.
