I lined the inside of the cabinet with 1/2" spanish cedar, no glue just brass screws and 1/16" gaps for expansion. I also built a 4-drawer cedar small chest inside the cabinet to house singles.
Now that I have carved several legs, I would love to rebuild the base unit with ball and claw feet or even queen anne bun feet.
