Nice work! I would say $1500. How many hours did this project take? What was the cost of material including suede, mirror, stain lacquer? What is your cost of overhead? Answer these questions and I can tell you how to come up with a fair price for this project.

Total cost was about $365. I think I put about 25 hrs and a little running around for the upholstry. My over head is about $0+/-. I work out of my home shop. I let is go for a grand. They are fairly wealthy and I think I'm going to pickup a few customers through them. To me I have to rationalize it as growth project. $1500 to$1800 I was thinking myself.

Brian,

Very nice work. Glad you asked about pricing and got some good response. Since you asked, I have another comment or two for you.

I do question your comment about having zero overhead. Do you have insurance? Do you have an electric bill? Do you need to replace tools as they wear out? How about new saw blades, router bits, and cleaning supplies?

Regarding your time: Did you get paid for your time visiting the prospective client, estimating, getting a signed contract, ordering the materials, delivering? You did mention that you spent some time "running around for the upholstery." As you have probably read on this forum before: Know Your Costs.

It is obvious that your present/future clients are/will be receiving fine work. For that, I hope you are adequately being compensated, including overhead and profit.

It sounds like you are on the right track!

Best of luck!
