Louis XV TV trays in mahogany

An end table that looks like a small drawer collection/display table. Have built variations to display knives, spools of thread collections and for a collector of fountain pens. In this example the drawers are actualy tables with spring loaded, self contained legs for updated TV tray concept. All carvings are by hand, I break the grain with pin router templates for speed. Next set of 8 will have a raised panel rear and slides and guides from lumber off my own tree farm.

Pretty clever,like it a lot.

Thank you. The metal straps have a hole near the end which slides over a post when the legs are at 90 degrees open. All the spring hinges are standard Stanly hardware. They are more stable than they look.

Thank you Bella.
I am working with someone now who may be able to produce a video of showing my mechanical furniture in operation, and possibly "how to" stuff in my shops. stay tuned.

I had a pretty major injury which took a couple of years to work through. All is well, I have been blessed, but I have not answered any messages in years.
My shop is open for business. I work and teach at $40/hr plus materials. All inquiries welcomed.
Nine of these have been made, 50-60 hours each. Have created in walnut, cherry and seven in mahogany. With raised panel rear, better mechanism and such I can get close to 100 hours.

I want to purchase this type cabinet or learn where I can find it

Hello Susie Hill.
An original design by my late Grandfather. I have made six. Not aware of anyone else copying.
Have improved the design to make the top a removable serving tray.
See atouchoftradition.biz for other pieces.
Not able to estimate a price at this time.
Emails through above website welcomed.
Appreciate the interest.

Hello Rob I’ve acquired a piece of vintage or antique furniture that is similar to your grandfathers design, I can’t seem to find any markings on the furniture just yet ( I just started looking and researching tonight but your post I can across is the only thing I’ve found at all similar to this furniture. Wandering if you can confirm if it’s his work? Just trying to find out origin of this amazing peice. Thank you Sarah

Hello Sarah, my Grandfather made but a few, not aware of any being outside of his extended heirs. He signed each piece with an insignia of FA where the F is lower in relation to the A so one line is used to make both letters.
