General info on the design of sheds used for air-drying lumber. 1998.

by Professor Gene Wengert

Q.
We are thinking of building air drying sheds to decrease air drying degrade. Is there design info available? If so where can I get it?

A.
I havenít seen a standard design. Gary Ortís mill has the typical design. We need adequate spacing between packs (24 inches edge to edge) and at least a 3 ft overhang, plus gutters.
