Glue Or Nail Plywood?

From original questioner:

i am trying to build a track with 1" plywood, 6' long and make sides for it 6" in width vertically. what is the best way to keep the sides in place> nail or glue? if glue, which kind? on top of plywood, i want to put carpet foam- which glue would be best to glue it on top of plywood? any help would be great!

Consider using both nails and screws. The 23 and 18 gauge headless pins work well for holding the sides in position after gluing. Then use clamps to hold the parts together under pressure while the glue cures. I recently experimented with using construction adhesive to bond plywood edges to plywood faces. The strength was surprisingly high.
