Weinig P22N Moulder Max Cutter Head Lengths4/14
I have a Weinig P22N seven head moulder and we only intend to leverage six heads. The drawing depicts the head configuration.
I am in the process of buying corrugated back horizontal cutter heads for this moulder and I would like get your opinion on setting up the heads to carry maximum length cutter heads for various work we would perform on this machine.
Max length of first bottom head
Please check the drawing that depicts head arrangement on the machine we have.
My considerations are Byrd or Weinig. Anyone has experience in using Byrd heads? Please share your thoughts.
It depends what kind of products you machine. If you make narrow strip flooring, you wouldn't need long head, therefore, making the cost cheaper. But if you're making wide baseboard, door jams, window parts, etc., you're going to need wider heads. Find out what your planning to run through that molder and find the product with the largest width. Then you can by heads according to that size.
Call the tooling department at Weinig, they will be happy to help
