South Carolina Floods10/12
I have received many "Check in's" from members of Woodweb, Many thanks to all, it really shows the comradery we share in the trade, many of the Woodworking Assc. have called including Members from the AWI.
We survived well, good planning the guys covered all work and tools before the rains, "Listen to the weather"
My city has taken a terrible hit, hundreds if not thousands of destroyed homes, hundreds of bridges and roads compromised are destroyed.
it is like navigating with a Rubiks cube for a GPS, people are amazing with help, there are hundreds of life saving stories of neighbors and responders going way beyond the call to help, Some losing their lives in service. the real losers are those who chose to evade markers and barriers and attempt to drive over to washed out areas a good many lost their lives mindless of the cars and belongings.
The City's, County's, State and FED FEMA personnel have really stepped up. Big Kudoos to all of them Amazing how quick they got on the Job
Again McGrew Woodwork faired Well and we did lose a few days due to blocked roads and areas. all in all our shop and Families are good
Feel free to help anyone anyway you can there are many go fund me accts for some who have lost homes, many of these swelled to a few grand in a short time with 10 and 20 $ donations. these will never be enough to replace all these people lost but it sure made a good piece of initial help.
My Prayer is this never happens to your community or city. We here had never thought this would ever happen, living proof We are not in charge.
Again Many Thanks to All.
Glad to hear things are "OK" with you. Gonna be a rough time down there for a long time.
Geez.........I completely forgot you were down there. I'm very glad to hear you came through relatively unscathed.
Good luck with the coming months and take care.
