Salice or Blum face frame hinge

I generally use Salice frameless hinges. I have a couple upper cabinets that are notched for a beam. I don’t have enough depth at top of cabinet for a frameless hinge and plate but a face frame hinge will work. I have flush to door face scribes. Is there a face frame hinge that can open with 1/8” space door to scribe? I can make frame any width from 3/4” to 1-5/8”. Doors will just have an eased edge.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to get the reveal (A) down to an 1/8" with either Salice or Blum (or any brand face frame hinge). Here are the details for Salice face frame hinges.

The gap requirement changes based on the overlay you choose.

For overlays of 1/4" to 3/4" an 8.3mm gap is required to turn the door (3/4" square edge) without rubbing.

For overlays of 1" to 1-7/16" a 5.2mm gap is required to turn the door (3/4" square edge) without rubbing.

Blum FF hinges require slightly larger gaps in each case.

Can you possible do a lift up door?

Door cannot be lifted from top. So if I have 1-1/4” stile and use 1” overlay I should be ok. Are they available in soft close? Soft close is not a must have. If 1-1/4” stile with 1” overlay is correct please
give me correct model number.

Hey Al,

The 1" overlay soft close is available (See attachment for the choices and part numbers.

You are fine with the 1-1/4" stile and a 1" overlay. The gap needed for the soft close, 1" overlay is a hair larger than the self close.

Self close gap: 5.2mm
Soft close gap: 5.8mm
