Just wanted to say hey, I'm new to the group3/23/17
Hey everyone Im new to the page and figured I'd say hey. I'm a custom furniture and cabinet maker in southern Indiana. Woodworking has been a passion of mine since i was a 7th grader and had my first taste of working with appropriate tools. At 33 currently I've put 6 years under my belt with furniture and cabinet making keeping my lights on.
Im forever researching and looking for new ways to do what we've been doing as long as we have records.
As the head builder at the shop I'm currently with I get the pleasure of having every custom/one off order find its way to my build list.
I'll do what i can to be a useful member as I have screwed up almost everything imaginable over the years which has lead to a pretty decent ability to repair mistakes without scrapping it and starting from scratch. This was a necessity when I was working as a stand alone builder with deadlines and always tried to keep my lumber limited to pretty close to what i needed.
Thanks for stopping in and ill add a few pictures if i can figure out how to add them
Welcome to this forum I believe you will see some interesting and quite useful discussions here. It looks like you do some very nice work.
Nice work ! Woodweb has been a tool in my box a good while, pick the topics you want to follow and set them for email notification.
i still look every day !
I am new on this site as well.. what a resource Woodweb is! Being relatively new to fine wood working, and without a local mentor, I need it.
Hello, and glad to have you available to pick your brain on a future problem!
Nice looking work. What type of finish is that on the last vanity picture?
Thanks guys. I look forward to getting to know the group.
The finish on the vanity is a charcoal toner with ebony over it to match an early 1900s piece that previously existed in the bathroom that they renovated and enlarged.
Got a custom stair tread build going now for my wife I'll add a shot of the tops in the spray booth
