Salice Free Swing for 1" Doors1/14
Could you please recommend a Salice wide-angle door hinge designed for thick doors (1") that is free swing (unsprung)?
Our 155 degree "thick door" hinges are not available in free swing as a stock item (Only self close and soft close)
However, for 1" thick doors our standard 165 degree hinge can work as long as you pay attention to the gap needed between 2 doors or between a door and a wall.
As you can see in the chart below, as the edge bore distance "K" increases the amount of gap required "A" decreases. To get the overlay you want, simply increase the mounting plate thickness accordingly to offset the larger K value.
If, for example, you want a 17mm overlay on a 19mm side you would use the full overlay free swing hinge (C2REA99), drilled 8mm from the edge and use a 6mm mounting plate. This would leave a 2mm reveal on a 19mm side. If a little more or less is needed it can be fine-tuned with the side adjustment feature.
Below, I have also highlighted the possible free swing part numbers that are readily available.
Please let me know if you need anything further or would like a sample to mock up.
