Ritter 2061 pocket hole machine

Has anyone bought this new machine I have had mine fir a month and am breaking drill bits a lot it’s a low angle rout and them pilot hole drill from opposite end setup. It was cycling very fast and hitting hard when I first took delivery. Ritter advised me how to slow it down but to keep it from breaking drill bit it has to be extremely slow. At an acceptable cycle speed drill bit looks like a wood pecker coming out Anyone dealing with this?

My Castle did that. I called them and they have brad point bits for solid wood and standard bits for plywood. Switched bits and it fixed the problem.

Keith, I'd like to know, did you resolve this issue?

I haven’t solved it yet bought several extra bits (standard not the Brad points) before I saw them mentioned here. I have slowed the machine down some fir know but am not very happy with the performance. It’s much slower that my 40 year old Ritter drill tub I plan to try the better bits. As soon as I get a chance. The machine really “hits hard “ on harder woods like maple and hickory the clamping cylinder can barely hold the piece on these very hard woods. Does fine in poplar
