We are closed for regular business but I needed something to do so I have been building aerosol protection shields for hospitals from open source plans that some friends in Ireland shared link below to playlist of all videos on what we are doing. Have you sold any of these yet? We're looking into it now as well. I think they're also called intubation boxes. If you've sold any, how did you approach the hospitals?

I’ve sold a few and have some out for evaluation. It’s definitely not a viable business I took it on as something to do. It’s interesting that everyone wants to evaluate it and make their own designs

Before you put a whole lot of effort make sure you can actually get clear acrylic it’s shot off the shelves here and is back ordered

I’ve updated and made changes from feedback I have received, we added a 5” drop on the front of box and adjusted hole size for filter, the size that I have been given is 22.5 mm.

Derek, thank you for posting the videos. I had no experience with plexi before watching them, but turned out a good-looking prototype for a doctor in my area. A few hours at UTube university was all I needed. I did not buy the heating tubes, but constructed my own using some NiChrome wire and a voltage regulator.

I agree this is not a long-term business, but the experience working with a new material opens up some interesting possibilities. Also, in the post-virus world, there may well be some products that are best made with a combination of wood panels and plexi. Cabinetmakers with experience in both materials and a cnc would be in a good position to make those products.
