I just got this unit up and running. The problem seems to be that the vacuum doesn't transfer through the spoil board. When the vacuum is well enough to run the part it seems to move like it's secured to jello. Any suggestions ? Thank you
Is your spoilboard common shop grade MDF? I have, in a pinch used a higher grade MDF which forces me to mill both sides of the spoilboard. Seems like the factory face does not allow decent flow. What is the table size and h.p. of your vacuum?
As stated in the post above you need to mill both sides of the panel the first time you use it. The faces of these panels are more closed off to air flow once you mill both sides you will have better results
I wrote this a few years back.
One thing I would add is instead of edgebanding the 4 sides I would not run tapeand back off your pressure rollers that apply the tape. This will apply the glue only. The edgebanding tape will give you trouble when fly cutting over and over.
Thank you for your assistance. I have isolated it to the hardness of the gasketing material.
