Hi all
we are cutting on the 5*8 cnc router a thin composite (acp), and so far we have been using 2x double stage 4kw blowers with inverters.
We manged this way taking them from 50Hz to 90Hz, but not using any MDF as the vacuum depth too low. So now switching to a new solution as holding parts should not be any matter of luck (price of acp is 20EUR/m2).
One option we consider is a liquid ring pump that we can buy at a relatively good price (below 500EUR) for the 15hp I get. I expect though a 8gpm (3m3/h) water consumption, which is huge. Is this what you also experience? Do you use other sources of water? What alternatives to this volume do I have?
also, is it complicated this setup with the liquid ring pump?
I found also another pump that is atypical for cnc, namely one for semiconductors (dry pump). it is a combination of 2 pumps, and is doing in excess of 700cfm at very deep vacuum. Anyone tried this type?
on the rotary vane, quite a few people complain about the maintenance costs. I would stay away from them for this reason.
any recommendations are welcome.
thank you
