Wood waste
10/8/13
I have an architectural door shop in the Boston Ma area, here is my question.
I do a lot of window cut outs in the wood doors that I sell, I am looking for a way to get rid of the waste. I have been chucking it in the dumpster but I am always trying to figure out a better more useful way of getting rid of my trash. Any suggestions....

I'd use them for wood heat...

The best way to reuse this organic waste is to turn it into nutrition by composting it for your garden. Composted organic waste has a high nutrient value, and when added to a garden, improves the quality of the soil.

I had put ads on Craigslist letting people know that I had free firewood. I also post about free sawdust. I did this a couple of years ago and now have 2 people coming every week to get the wood scrap for heating and another comes every 2 weeks for the sawdust for their horses, chickens and turkeys. Occasionally some will drop by for about 10 - 20 lbs of sawdust for their garden. I do not put any wood or sawdust in the dumpster anymore. Saves me money as I now use a smaller dumpster.
