Hi all, I'm looking at getting a new Nederman s-1000
they have the option to go with a pneumatic shaker, however those shakers are $3700 CAD....that's insane..... it's a reciprocating air cylinder that moves a plate back and forth to shake all the bags at once.
anyone out here that has rigged up something like that themselves?

I had a dc that had a simple metal frame around the outside perimeter of the bags with cross pieces that framed around all four sides of every bag. it had a simple handle on it that you grab and move back and forth to shake all the bags at once. it worked very well.

What Gary Gossling is likely referring to is an Aget Mfg. collector. Aget manufactures a series of indoor collectors like the Nederman S-series except having a true shaker mechanism. I had one of those collectors. We cleaned the bags with a long wood pole. Inserting it between the bags and giving it a wiggle. We only did this when the collector was off. Seemed to work pretty well. I don’t have experience cleaning bags when it’s running. I know it’s done but I’m not sure how effective it is.

When we cut ours off at the end of the day we spend 1 minute just tapping them with our hand. It's amazing how much can be stored up inside the tubes.
