3M Top Coat Rubbing Demo Video?1/3/16
Does anyone have this video? I think it's a twenty minute video and it was sent out on VHS tapes. I cannot locate mine and I surely would like to find mine.
Options are to loan me yours or watch it and answer me some pointed and detailed questions that I have and that this video will answer.
It's a sad situation that Cooper Power Tools sunk the Stuhr dual pad rubbing machines, sending them the way of the DeLorean car.
National-Detroit also retired their dual pad rubbing machines, too.
Please help, write me here or contact me privately.
Good luck on finding either the National-Detroit or 9lb Stuhr or the 31lb Stuhr. Those machines are now fetching top dollar. It wasn't too long ago that I bought a Nat'l Detroit on eBay for $100. The latest auctions see them selling for more than $800.
I'll try harder to locate my Top Coat Rubbing 3M video, digitize it and post it to YouTube for public consumption.
I'm trying to do a satin sheen on an opaque finish (color coat — clear topcoat). The haze (scratch pattern) displeases too many people and causes ire with the designers. The off-the-gun doesn't lend itself too well to spot repairs. Hand-rubbed sheens do.
Good news guys, living near Rockford IL I used to get my National Detroit dirt cheap right from the factory. Now Dynabrade owns them and will have the inline sanders out very soon. I have told them to do a run of the rubbing machines and I get the " maybe we will" response. It's all do to market demand. If they do a short run of the rubbing machine I am sure it will be very costly.
I found my video. It's a VHS cassette. Next step, digitize the video (soon, I hope). Then, upload it to youtube.
