Looking for help
Need to put a VFD on our 15hp and 10hp collectors
the 15hp is 12" spiral and is about 30 LF the cnc has butterfly valves for boring and or routing. Looking to put a static pressure sensor and transmitter in to tell vfd to reduce speed any ideas on model# ?
Same with 10hp it is for the edgebander
Is your goal energy savings?

I do not believe the math will work. Have you done the annual cost of running those two collectors 8 hours a day?
I found this neat calculator
The 15 Hp cost around 1,900 per year to run based on .075 per kwh.
Then I found this caculator
If the VFD setup cost $2,500 complete that is 102 months payback.
My number are guesses but you can plug in better numbers to get a more accurate analysis.
I'd like to see the numbers you come up with if they are different.
Question: When reducing the motor speed with a VFD, doesn't the duct velocity drop? If so, isn't that a problem?
